Underwater replacement of sacrificial anodes
We fit and replace anodes on vessel hulls and underwater structures — without drydocking, at depths to 60 metres in Murmansk and Kola Bay.

Cathodic protection relies on sacrificial anodes: components made of active metals that corrode in place of the vessel's hull, the quay piles and the steel of marine structures. In time the anodes waste away and stop protecting the metal, so their condition is checked during survey and they are replaced before the main structure begins to suffer. PKF Bolid carries out this work with its own divers directly underwater — without lifting the object or docking the vessel.
Divers remove the spent anodes, prepare the seats by cleaning and grinding, and fit new anodes by welding or bolting. We use underwater welding and cutting equipment, NEMO cordless tools and hydraulic tools with the HYCON power pack; every stage is recorded on photo and video. Where it makes sense, we combine the replacement with a hull survey and cavitation cleaning of fouling.
We work on vessels, quays, water intakes and other marine structures in Murmansk, Kola Bay and across the region — all year round, including through the polar night. For emergency damage to the protection we mobilise immediately; other regions by arrangement. The client gets the protection restored and a report with photographic evidence.
