Underwater video and photo inspection

An underwater inspection is an examination of the submerged part of a structure with video and photo evidence of its actual condition. This is how wear, damage, corrosion and fouling are assessed on vessel hulls, quays, piers, water intakes and other marine structures — without lifting them or taking them out of service. Clients need such an inspection ahead of repair, survey or acceptance of a structure, and when tracing the cause of damage.

Every dive is carried out under live video over the umbilical: the supervisor on the surface sees the picture in real time and directs the inspection. Hard-to-reach areas and the general view are filmed with the RB-550 ROV, while sonar and GLONASS/GPS positioning tie the findings to their place on the structure. Each stage is recorded on video and photo, so the conclusions rest on evidence rather than description alone.

We work in Murmansk, Kola Bay, the Barents and White Seas, with mobilisation across the region where needed. We inspect all year round, including through the polar night, at depths to 60 metres. The client receives the video and photo material and a clear picture of the condition — the basis for repair, survey or design work.
