Underwater jetting and dredging
Jetting of bottom material, trenching for pipelines and cables, freeing silted structures — anchors, blocks, sunken plant — in Murmansk and Kola Bay.

Jetting is the hydraulic removal of bottom deposits by a directed water jet, with the suspended material carried away at the same time. The method is used where excavating plant cannot work or would do harm: on the approaches to quays, at the supports of marine structures, around submerged equipment. The jet opens up the seabed gently, without damaging the pipeline, cable or structure that has to be exposed or freed from silt and deposits.
PKF Bolid has carried out such work since 1992 at depths to 60 metres. Divers cut trenches for laying pipelines and cables, carry out local dredging in the quay area and free silted structures ahead of survey, welding or repair. Dives are supported by Kirby Morgan helmets and band masks, hot-water suits, umbilicals and high-pressure compressors; the work is monitored from the surface and, where needed, with the RB-550 ROV.
We work in Murmansk, Kola Bay and across the region all year round, including through the polar night; other regions by arrangement. Our record includes work on the Prirazlomnaya offshore platform. The jetting method and dive support are matched to each particular site.
- Dredging and local jetting at quays and structures
- Trenching for pipeline and cable laying
- Freeing silted structures ahead of survey and repair
- Hydraulic jetting that leaves pipes, cables and structures unharmed
- Depths to 60 m, year-round work, polar night included
- Full dive support and monitoring from the surface
